About RouteBoard
RouteBoard is a field-service operations platform built to run real field service work: job scheduling, live ETAs, invoicing, and day-to-day execution out in the field. It started as the tool behind Platform21’s sister business, EcoMow Sustainable Gardening, and now runs EcoMow’s operations end to end.

The Challenge
Running a field service business day-to-day surfaces problems most off-the-shelf software doesn’t solve well:
- A schedule that needs to be checked and rearranged from a phone or a watch, not just a desktop
- Jobs that get quoted, photographed and invoiced on-site, often with patchy mobile signal
- Invoicing that needs to reconcile cleanly with Xero rather than live in a separate system
- No quick way to ask “what’s on today” or “quote this job” without clicking through several screens
Our Approach
- Edge-native backend: Hono on Cloudflare Workers and Neon Postgres keep the API fast with no server to manage
- True offline-first mobile: A persistent outbound queue on the native apps means a job can be completed with no signal, syncing automatically once the connection returns
- Location-aware scheduling: CoreLocation breadcrumb tracking with geofence arrival detection keeps ETAs and job status accurate without manual updates
- One codebase across three native platforms: iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac share a single Swift data and sync layer, so a change made on one shows up everywhere
- An AI agent with real access: A remote MCP server lets Claude query the schedule, manage jobs and quotes, and look up customers, scoped through OAuth 2.1 rather than a standing open door

RouteBoard now runs EcoMow’s field operations in production:

- 20 MCP tools giving AI agents scoped, real access to the business
- Live in production, running EcoMow’s day-to-day scheduling, invoicing and field work
RouteBoard is the clearest example of what Platform21 means by App & API Development and Agentic AI Services together: a real business running on software we built ourselves, with an AI agent that can act on it directly rather than just answer questions about it.
